Welcome to our page, where we share the story of Sir Nicholas Winton and me, his son, Nick Winton. My father’s impressive lifespan reached 106 years, with his health remarkably strong until the final weeks. Our family tradition of gathering for meals at the dinner table provided an opportunity for engaging discussions about world events, politics, economics and other subjects that interested my father. It was an invaluable education covering a huge range of topics.
In the last years of his life, circumstances led me back to living with him. Despite his advanced age, he remained intellectually strong, eager to discuss a wide range of subjects. These conversations enriched my understanding of his viewpoints, ethics, and the values he held dear.
His unique sense of humour was quirky and a constant source of fun, often filling our home with laughter, particularly when friends and guests joined us. This page celebrates the connection and shared experiences between us, reflecting on the wisdom and laughter that defined our father-son bond.
